The Full BPL Way
What we do
We help you and your colleagues to reflect on, answer and action three BIG LEADERSHIP QUESTIONS – personally and collectively on an ongoing basis.
Why reflect on, answer and action the questions?
By reflecting on and answering the three BIG LEADERSHIP QUESTIONS, you and your colleagues…
…increase your personal and collective awareness, understanding and clarity (objectiveness) of how well you are currently enabling and what you could do to better enable success, wellbeing & positive impact across your different roles and against ‘what is possible’.
From which, you
…decide what to focus on, plan and take action to better enable success, wellbeing & positive impact, and overcome constraints.
How we help you and your colleagues to reflect on,
answer and action the questions
Through Core Support and Enhancers

Explore the Core Support
1. A Professionally Accredited Coach
When reflecting on, answering and actioning the BIG LEADERSHIP QUESTIONS for the first time, we absolutely recommend you and your colleagues use one of our professionally accredited coaches. They act as your guide and thinking partner to aid you to get even more value.
2. The BPL Cycle
The 4-Step BPL Cycle is a tool and process to help you and your colleagues to reflect on and answer the questions, and then to pinpoint and carry out one specific action at a time to better enable success, wellbeing & positive impact.
The BPL Cycle aids you all to continuously reflect on and develop your leadership and role-specific capabilities, be more alert and agile to your environment, and be more potent and impactful.
3. Core Skill Development
We help you and your colleagues to develop core skills that increase your ability to effectively reflect on, answer and action the three BIG QUESTIONs; these are:
Developing a Work-in-Progress (WiP) MindsetTM
Our mindsets influence the way we see things (our reality) and how we act. When we take on a WiP Mindset we see everything as ‘work in progress’, where nothing is fixed, no one has all the answers, everything can be improved, and much has still to be invented. This mindset aids us to be able to better identify and challenge our beliefs, assumptions, biases, values and attitudes; which in turn help us to see and think more clearly and innovatively.
Creating a High-Quality Thinking AtmosphereTM
It is the quality of our personal and collective thinking that greatly determines success, wellbeing & positive impact. However, much thinking left to itself is biased, distorted, partial, and uninformed. Excellence in thinking needs to be systematically cultivated.
Problem Solving & Decision Making
These are two of the highest order leadership skills. Yet, without raising our awareness and continuously developing them, they can be heavily influenced by irrational compulsions, unconscious intuitions, emotions, conditioning and coercion. We aid you to develop and practise them.
Running Success & Wellbeing SalonsTM
These salons help you work with small groups of stakeholders to solve problems, seize opportunities and make decisions.
Carrying Out Experiments
There are multiple ways to enable success, wellbeing & positive impact. In these very volatile and complex times we live, it is beneficial to take the role of a curious and open-minded scientist and carry out experiments to test and identify ways to enable success, wellbeing & positive impact.
Enhancers
Building on our Core Support, we offer various Enhancers in the areas of People, Analytics, Content and Technology.
The Enhancers aid you and your colleagues to do two main things:
1. Increase the visibility and understanding of your leadership
The clearer you can see and understand how well you are currently enabling success, wellbeing & positive impact against ‘what is possible’, the greater your ability to leverage enablers and address constraints.
There isn’t one way to look at how well you are enabling success, wellbeing & positive impact. As such, we offer different lenses to look at your leadership across roles, aspects of life, teams, groups, functions and whole organisations. We do this with the support of analytics, psychometrics, coaching, and technology.
2. Make an increased positive impact
Like us all, there are probably lots of different actions that you could take to better enable success, wellbeing & positive impact. Those actions could be development, experiments or activities.
At Maximy, we provide various options through our owned services and partnerships to aid you to carry out actions to make an increased positive impact. We also can work with you to find relevant third-party services.

1. Step Back & Ask
Key to your people being the Best Possible Leaders they can be is regularly taking the time to Step Back and Ask about their personal and collective leadership.
Their Personal Leadership
Each of your people Step Back and Ask about their current situation – “What are all the things I’m trying to achieve and why? How is it going for me?”
Then they answer two ‘Leadership Meta-Questions’:
"Am I being the Best Possible Leader I can be?"
"How can I better contribute to the success & wellbeing of myself, my family, my team, organisation and the wider community?”
Their Collective Leadership
As a group of leaders, your people Step Back and Ask about their current situation – “What are all the things we are trying to achieve and why? How is it going for us?”
Then they answer two ‘Leadership Meta-Questions’:
"Are we being the Best Possible Leaders we can be?"
"How can we better contribute to the success & wellbeing of ourselves, our families, our teams, organisation and the wider community?”
2. Reflect & Analyse
Through the BPL Capabilities Analysis Framework, we help your people to benchmark themselves against evidence-based capabilities that contribute to success & wellbeing.
This can be self-reports but preferably via a 360 that includes their stakeholders (family, friends, boss, work colleagues, etc.) It helps highlight leadership and role-specific development areas.
We help them process their needs and build a practice of reflection and perspective-building through constructive dialogue.
3. Decide & Plan
With thought-provoking incisive coaching questions, we help your people to challenge and test any assumptions before they prioritise their learning journey, choose the development method/service, outline clear goals and create a feasible plan.
4. Take Action & Measure Impact
In Taking Action, we help them use an agile and iterative method, where they learn, experiment with their development, practise and apply the learning. They build a practice of reflection, gain self-awareness and thus grow.
The system allows them to Measure Impact through the learning of the stories of their journeys promulgated with stakeholders, and share their successes to inspire others.
They build their analytics, which aids them, their stakeholders and your organisation to thrive.
